Sound art A Fool’s Paradise

Anyone who loves audiovisual art will undoubtedly enjoy this activity.

Equipped with an iPod and headphones, we cycle to four special locations on the domain: the frog quarter, the Goorkens, the dunes and the heath.

You will discover the most beautiful places on the domain in a very unusual way. At every spot, a crazy architect shows you buildings that are actually not there.

The de Hoge Rielen through the ears of artist Fiona Tan. Let yourself be carried away by a real whirlwind of sounds that enchant your other senses

Fiona Tan (Indonesia, 1966), internationally known for her audiovisual installations and art such as films and photographic work, created the sound artwork ‘A Fool’s Paradise’ for the Flemish Government and the Fund for Cultural Infrastructure (Foci). This sound artwork was artistically supervised by the art unit of the Flemish Government Architect in connection with the master plan for the de Hoge Rielen by Studio Associato Secchi-Viganò.
