Start your international adventure with de Hoge Rielen!
Are you between 18 and 30 years old? Would you like to do volunteering work in another country between 2 to 12 months?
As a sending organisation of the European Solidarity Corps we can help you. We will show you the possibilities, help you with your application file, prepare you for the project, offer practical support and will be your contact point in Flanders.
What is the European Solidarity Corps?
The European Solidarity Corps helps you participate in projects in your own country or abroad.
With these projects you can gain inspiring experiences, be part of the changes and at the same time develop skills and competences.
The project offers a great opportunity to help where it’s needed, learn new things, spend some time abroad, maybe even learn a new language and the most important: unforgettable memories.
The volunteer work
- lasts from 2 to 12 months
- is full time (between 30 to 38 hours per week)
- offers you the opportunity to contribute to the daily work of an organization that is committed to the local community
- takes place in a different EU member or a partner country than the one you live in (otherwise they are called "in-country projects" or "domestic projects")
- can also be short (two weeks to twee months), for example for participants with fewer opportunities or disabilities.
What are you entitled to?
- You are covered by health insurance.
- You are entitled to get support services. For example: A language course.
- Your basic costs will be reimbursed (traven and accommodation, including meals)
- You also get pocket-money for personal expenses(3 to 6 euros per day, can be different according to a country where you are)
- If you have special needs (for example due to a disability) you can also be reimbursed for the extra costs.
You can do projects with organizations that work on different themes: education and training, citizenship and democratic participation, environment and nature conservation, migration, culture, etc. You can always find something that fits your interests and background.
